The Quiet Power of Writing in a Loud World

By Peesh Chopra

We live in a noisy age. Everyone is sharing, posting, and conversing often more quickly than they realize. Writing can seem slow amid this fog. Even out of date. But clarity survives in writing. It is the point at which you stop responding to the turmoil around you and take the time to listen to your own ideas.

Writing Gets You to Pay Attention

You can not skim your own thoughts when writing. You must stop. You must pay attention to details, such as an idea's shape and how it bends when you apply pressure. This attention is powerful since it is uncommon these days.

It is Not About Perfection When Writing

Many people never write because they think their work will fall short. But writing is not about being perfect it’s about being honest. A few of my greatest phrases began awkwardly and uncertainly. They eventually discovered their voice.

Writing Is Recalling

Recollections wane. Emotions are hazy. They are caught in writing before they can escape. It turns into a means of clinging to your past self while still acknowledging your progress.

The Reason I Write

I write in order to comprehend. I write to take my time. I write to help me recall the important things before they are overshadowed by the urgent. Writing is how I listen and resist in a society where speed is everything.
